Prof. Danchin is a French geneticist known for his research in several fields of biology, from the structure and function of adenylate cyclase, to modelization of learning in the nervous system and the early development of genomics and bioinformatics. He was the director of the Department Genomes and Genetics at the Institut Pasteur in Paris.
A pillar in the biotechnology field, Dr. Hood has played a role in founding fifteen companies including Amgen and Applied Biosystems. He is one of te fathers of gene sequencing. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Institute of Medicine. Dr. Hood graduated from Caltech with a PhD in biochemistry.
Pr. Silver is an American cell and systems biologist and a bioengineer. She is one of the founding members of the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School, where she runs the Silver Lab. She has been named one of the top twenty Global Synthetic Biology Influencers and has served on numerous government advisory panels.
Pr. Weinstock is an American geneticist and microbiologist on the faculty of The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine, where he is a professor and the associate director for microbial genomics. He received his Ph.D. from the MIT in 1977. He has spent most of his career taking genomic approaches to study fundamental biological processes.
Dr. Marliere is a scientist and serial entrepreneur. He is a leader in the fields of metabolic engineering and xenobiology, and a cofounder of several successful biotechnology companies including Heurisko (microorganism evolution) and Global Bioenergies (hydrocarbon biofuels).He is a graduate of Ecole Normale Superieure.
Research Director at INRA, Pr. Dore is Scientific Director of MetaGenoPolis, a Unit of the Micalis Institute “Food and Gut Microbiology for Human Health”. He aims to contribute to a better understanding of the intestinal ecosystem in order to support therapeutic choices. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Rey is a structural biologist who spent 7-years as post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University, where he specialized in the structure of viruses. He created the Structural Virology Unit at Institut Pasteur. His research focus has included the 3D structures of viral polymerases and the study of viral envelope proteins.
Pr. Panke is part of the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich. He is a leading scientist at the forefront of synthetic biology in Europe. He published landmark papers in the field of synthetic biology, systems biology, and process engineering. His work was awarded with the ETH Medal and the DSM Research Award.

Rodolphe Besserve is a former Managing Director at Societe Generale, where he built the Biotech/Medtech activity in ECM and M&A. He conducted more than 50 transnational deals including IPOs, right issues, mergers, LBOs,… Before this, he was an equity analyst covering the healthcare sector. He was ranked #1 research analyst in France in 2010. He is a chemist by training with a master in finance.
Serge Pampfer is the former General Director of WBC, a biotech incubator based in Wallonia, Belgium. Prior to that position, Dr. Pampfer was General Manager of GIGA, COO of Beta-Cell and CSO of Arevia. He holds a PhD in cellular biology from the University of Louvain and University of Essen and did his post-doctoral at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NYC.
Kristin Thompson is former head of strategic partnerships in microbiome at Bioaster. Before that Dr. Thompson was senior BD manager at Famar and BD manager of the French biotech company DaVolterra. She worked in research at French INSERM and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She holds a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Ulm, Germany.
Clement Tallec is the former CFO of Alsid, a cybersecurity start-up, where he oversaw worldwide operational setup, growth, strategy and financing. Before that he was VP Corporate Finance for Lenox Hill Advisers in NYC and co-founded the Euronext IPO advisory department in Paris. He started his career in M&A at SGCIB and Aforge after a Master from Université Paris Dauphine and MSc. from EDHEC Business School.

Alan Howard is the co-founder of Brevan Howard AM, one of the successful macro hedge funds in Europe since its inception in 2003. He graduated from Imperial College in 1986 of which he is now a fellow and began his career at Salomon Brothers. He served on the New York Federal Reserve’s investor advisory committee for 8 years. He was amongst the 50 people who changed Global Business in 2020 (Bloomberg 50).
